Environmental awareness and responsibility - Elemis Skin Care uses the finest ingredients from nature but never takes resources that are endangered, that would damage their environment through removal or take precious plant matter that would affect local communities. Rare or protected plants are not harvested from their native environment but grown in France and harvested under control. Plants are harvested once a year allowing small animals to live and thus participate in the biodiversity of the environment.

ISO 14001 certification of the manufacturing division of Elemis ensures environmental responsibility such as: optimisation of waste handling and 75% recycling rate (plant residue used as fertilizer, plastic recycling). A new system of water recycling, 'Phytorestauration', is being implemented where water used for tank cleansing is now recycled in filtering gardens, preserving the eco-system. This innovative system is only made with natural plant resources, no chemical or physical treatment. Each plant used has a targeted action to fix pollutants and act as filters. For instance: Iris’ are used as a filter to treat Phosphor or Nitrogen, Reeds are used for the degradation of organic matter, finishing with Bamboo and Willow filters. The division is currently working on a new approach (ecoconception) which will include the manufacturing process, as well as the full life-cycle of the product (for instance drums must be recyclable).

Never compromise on quality - Elemis Skin Care formulates only with the ultimate in ingredients and never settles for second best. The laboratory uses the finest ingredients and the first extraction from distilled plant material. Many Essential Oils on the market may use up to the fifth extraction. This means that at each stage of extraction the effectiveness of the product is diminished and becomes simply a marketing claim and ingredient listing. This is much cheaper of course but has little or no therapeutic effect.
